Folks, I'm back in the saddle from my Masters trip in Augusta, Ga. We will be giving a post-practice report from here on out.
Some developments last week:
• Not a surprise to anybody, Gig Harbor's Clarence Trent quit the football team after a week-and-a-half stay (I say that because a source said once at Gig Harbor High, he tried out for a couple days and did not return).
Never miss a local story.
• With the emergence of running backs Jesse Callier and Deontae Cooper, sophomore-to-be Demitrius Bronson, a Kentwood High product, has shifted to fullback. The quartet of Chris Polk, Callier, Cooper and Johri Fogerson (not necessarily in that order) should be the group heading into fall camp.
• Cameron Elisara played a lot more defensive end last week. Probably a good idea since the numbers for that position group have grown light.
• Spectators for spring practice, a reminder … know the guidelines for what you can bring into practice and what you can't. Security has tightened up on cameras and cellular phones.
