Coach Lorenzo Romar has just briefed the media in some detail about latest recruit Terrence Ross.
Romar said among previous players he's coached, Ross might be most like Tre Simmons ... but more athletic.
Romar also admitted that Ross is something like a player on the current roster: redshirt freshman C.J. Wilcox:
"In some ways they probably are similar, but C.J. probably has quicker feet," Romar said. "But Terrence Ross is probably the better athlete – and C.J.’s a good athlete. C.J. may have the edge on him a little bit as a shooter, but it’s pretty close.
"One of the thing that is important to us is to become a better outside-shooting team. And Terrence Ross definitely provides that. But again, not limited to just standing around shooting threes. He’s active. He goes to the boards, you’ve got to box him out. I think he’ll be a tremendous defensive player. You look at a C.J. or a Scott Suggs – guys who have size that can shoot the ball – you add Terrence Ross, now you’re starting to put together a team that resembles some of the teams that we’ve played in that you’re a lot more difficult to guard in that you can’t concentrate just on one guy."
More later ... but all on Terrence Ross, not Terrence Jones. While Jones was very much the elephant in the room, Romar is prohibited from discussing recruits who haven't signed their letters of intent. Jones still hasn't, and therefore Romar only acknowledged that he has one more scholarship to give.
