I have arrived at LaVell Edwards Stadium, a hair more than three hours before kickoff. The stadium has one HUGE parking lot on the west side, and the view from the press box stares directly into the mountain range, opposite freshwater Utah Lake.
The 'Y' is everywhere.
It's kinda cool, especially if you're a Brigham Young football fan.
Not so many people crowding out in the parking lot for tail-gating. On the flight down, a BYU follower informed me that the local fans usually don't fill the rest of the stadium until a half-hour before kickoff – meaning they are late-, late-arriving.
A very dry heat here. Six fans have been strategically placed on the UW sideline as some of the Huskies' worker set it up.
Saw the equipment trailer stationed out in the media parking lot. Talked to one of the drivers. A 16-hour drive, straight-thru, from Seattle to Provo, Utah.
One of the BYU officials in the press box told me the region has been hit by lots of rain this month, but has dried out this week. He said 94 to 95 degrees in early September is a little bit warmer than normal.
** UPDATE: We just got handed the travel roster. Here are the guys who are not on the trip.
