The Huskies are back at practice this afternoon.
Before the team hit the field, coach Steve Sarkisian stressed in a Pac-10 conference call that he still believes in his team after their season-opening loss at BYU.
"I still feel very optimistic," he said. "I like our football team. I think when you step back and really look at the ball game and you look at the way BYU played – them being a perennial Top 25 team, the things they’ve accomplished for four or five years, (us) on the road, in their stadium with the heat, the altitude – they played a perfect ball game and they really didn’t make a mistake. We made numerous mistakes that are very, very correctable. And at the end of all that, we still have the ball on their 25-yard line with a chance to win the game with 2 ½ minutes left. So I still feel very optimistic about what we’re capable of achieving. But we’ve got to get things fixed and fixed quickly."
