UM men's basketball big man sophomore Tyreese Breshers has ended his playing career due to medical reasons, Husky Coach Lorenzo Romar announced Wednesday.
Breshers averaged 3 points and 2.6 rebounds last season as a redshirt freshman. He got that redshirt due to a variety of medical problems. However, the medical issue that has now ended his basketball career was not disclosed by the university.
He also seems a very good guy.
"Any time you lose a family member it is tough. Tyreese was a big part of our program, but his long term well-being is much more important than the game of basketball," coach Lorenzo Romar said in a statement released by the school. "We are fortunate that he will be around our program and get his degree from the University of Washington."
