The Beavers wasted no time in wiping out the Huskies' early lead, going 76 yards in seven plays on their first drive of the second half.
The key play was Ryan Katz's 20-yard completion to Jacquizz Rodgers against a UW blitz.
Two plays later, Rodgers finished it off with a 4-yard touchdown gallop up the middle, his second score of the game, to tie it at 21-21 at the 11:26 mark.
Again, the Huskies faced a fourth-down decision in opponents' territory. And again, UW coach Steve Sarkisian opted to go for the first down - this time from the Oregon State 45-yard line.
The Beavers stuffed it, dropping Chris Polk for a 3-yard loss on a rushing attempt.
The UW had its own defensive stands later in the quarter. Safeties Nate Fellner and Sean Parker each picked off Ryan Katz in Huskies' territory.
