The first few games of the NCAA men's basketball tournament have not disappointed. In Tucson, I saw Penn State's Talor Battle drill a long 3-pointer that could have sent the Nittany Lions into overtime with Temple. Instead, Owls guard Juan Fernandez got under Tim Frazier for the game-winner in the final seconds.
Hopefully UW basketball beat writer Don Ruiz will be lucky enough to see some close finishes in Charlotte, N.C., on Friday.
In the meantime, here are video clips of today's buzzer-beaters. And we've still got a bunch of games left. Love this four-day stretch of the year.
Here's video of Temple's Juan Fernandez breaking a tie score in the final seconds against Penn State. Temple won 66-64.
Here's Butler's Matt Howard scoring on a put-back at the buzzer, lifting the Bulldogs to a 60-58 win over Old Dominion.
No. 13 seed Morehead State pulled off a thrilling 62-61 win over fourth-seeded Louisville when Demonte Harper buried a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 4.2 seconds left.
Kentucky freshman Brandon Knight kept Big Blue Nation from imploding when he zipped past a Princeton defender for the game-winning basket with two seconds left on the clock. Fourth-seeded Kentucky won 59-57.
