It's back to a normal game week for me and the blog. The Huskies will host the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday.
The Buffaloes are coming off a physical and complete beating at the hands of the Stanford Cardinal. It was their 20th straight road loss.
One week it's special teams, the next it's a deficient defense or offensive offense. And then there are outings like Saturday at No. 7 Stanford when it's just painfully obvious the Buffs don't have the talent to compete.
Each time it ends with Buffs hanging their heads and strolling off the field toward another sour locker room and long flight home.
Never miss a local story.
Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck carved up a depleted CU defense missing numerous players to injuries and suspensions leading his team to its 13th straight victory -- 48-7 over the Buffs at Stanford Stadium with Denver Broncos vice president John Elway watching from the CU sideline. Colorado was without standout wide receiver Paul Richardson, who has a sprained knee and likely won't play this week. Head coach Jon Embree also suspended five players before the game, not sure about their status for this week.
It seems unlikely that Colorado will win another game this season. Maybe they could beat UCLA. But they could easily finish the year 1-12.
