Greetings from Burbank, California. I'm down here for the Pac-12 football media day, which is on Tuesday. Quickly a few notes, both Keith Price and Desmond Trufant were on our flight down here along with Washington sports information directors Jeff Bechtold and Jeremy Cotheran.
In a bit of news ... Price was named to the Manning Award watch list today along with Matt Barkley of USC.
But neither Price or Trufant were the most famous people on this flight. Nope that honor would belong to Mr. Snoop Doggy Dogg, who was flying back to L.A. after doing a show last night at the Showbox Sodo. Though some younger folks may not think Snoop is on Lil Wayne level and some old people have no idea, who I'm talking about, I was admittedly a little starstruck, even after years of covering major league baseball.
Besides Snoop and his bodyguard, who could play offensive tackle for the Huskies, his son, Correll Broadus, was on the trip. It's interesting because Correll Broadus is a wide receiver for Diamond Bar H.S., who has already been offered a scholarship by UCLA. Price walked up to Broadus in the airport and introduced himself in a brief meeting.
Broadus isn't ranked by Scout.com. But I will say, he isn't a small kid. And looks bigger than the 6-2, 185 pounds that most sites list him at.
As for tomorrow's media day, we'll have press conferences with each coach and the two players they brought along with some 1-on-1 interview time. You can watch the live stream of the press conference's HERE. I will also to try and embed the video into a blog post.
Here's the line-up ....
