Washington guard C.J. Wilcox was named Pac-12 Player of the week after helping the Huskies to a Bay Area sweep of Cal and Stanford.
Wilcox averaged 23.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks in those two games. Washington started the week with a 62-47 win at Cal during which Wilcox scored a game-high 19 points and tied his then career-high with eight rebounds.
The Huskies then beat Stanford 65-60. Wilcox shot 62.5 percent from the field and 66.7 from behind the 3-point line on the way to 27 points, one short of his career high. He scored 11 of the team’s last 15 points in the game. Wilcox also set a career-high with nine rebounds.
This is Wilcox’s second career Pac-12 Player of the Week honor. He earned his first Player of the Week Nov. 14, 2011. It is the 45th all-time selection for Washington and their first this season.
Never miss a local story.
