According to Jimmy Durkin of the San Jose Mercury News, Washington running back Erich Wilson II is transferring to San Jose State.
Wilson's departure would be a slight ding to Washington's running back depth, which, if Jesse Callier and Deontae Cooper return this year, would be ample.
Wilson certainly is not an overlooked back. He was being used a lot in the spring and, just entering his sophomore season, is a hard runner who could have become the Huskies' lead back in a year or two.
Instead, it appears he will head to San Jose State and join former Washington wide receivers coach Jimmie Dougherty who is the offensive coordinator there.
