We're about an hour away from leaving the San Jose airport, but first wanted to pass along the news that ESPN's College GameDay announced today that it will broadcast from the University of Washington on Saturday, when the Huskies host the No. 2 Oregon Ducks in another crucial Pac-12 North matchup.
It will be GameDay's first visit to Seattle. The distinction of a visit from the GameDay crew, which consists of Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, David Pollack and Samantha Ponder, typically goes to whichever venue provides the most important or most intriguing matchup in college football each week.
Fowler hinted on Twitter last week that if the Huskies beat Stanford, a GameDay appearance was all but assured. Apparently, a tightly-contested 31-28 loss was enough to maintain that interest.
Washington hosts Oregon at 1 p.m. Saturday. The game will air on FOX Sports 1. GameDay begins at 9 a.m. Eastern Time (6 a.m. Pacific) on ESPN and lasts three hours.
Never miss a local story.
