This much is known: Marques Tuiasosopo will coach the Washington Huskies in a bowl game.
Beyond that ... well, stay tuned.
Washington is scheduled to practice on Friday and Saturday, I'm told. Not sure if those will be partially open, totally open, totally closed or what. There should be some form of media availability in the coming days. Would imagine we'll hear soon.
It also appears as if running backs coach/special-teams coordinator Johnny Nansen and defensive backs coach Keith Heyward are leaving to join Steve Sarkisian's staff at USC. That was reported by a few different outlets yesterday, and a source within the program confirmed as much to the News Tribune. As of now, there is still uncertainty about where defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox will end up when everything is settled. Yesterday's appointment of Marques Tuiasosopo as interim head coach certainly makes you wonder about Wilcox, whose $1 million buyout appears to be a point of contention at USC.
The names of Wilcox, Boise State coach Chris Petersen and Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier seem to be at the forefront of conversations about the search, and the Seattle Times reports that Petersen and Nussmeier appear to be the frontrunners.
