(Morning links are giving way to midnight links today.)
First, let's run down the reported details of Washington athletic director Scott Woodward's quick trip to Boise last night.Brian Murphy of the Idaho Statesman has the story from the Boise airport
A man named Travis Hawkes, whom Murphy described in his story as a BSU booster, first tweeted that Woodward was meeting with Petersen in Boise. CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman reported the same thing shortly after. Hawkes also tweeted that a source told him after the meeting that Peterson is "expected" to stay at Boise State, though there have been no media reports to that effect.
--- Have heard UW has a practice scheduled for Friday morning, but a UW spokesperson said there are no open practices, nor any media availability scheduled as of now. So if the Huskies are practicing, it is closed.
Now for some links ...
--- Here is our story in today's newspaper, looking at where the Huskies stand now after reported interviews for two candidates on Thursday, though it's not as up to date with the Woodward-in-Boise information.
--- In case anyone is unfamiliar or wants a refresher, here is the official biography for Petersen, and here's the bio for Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier, who also reportedly interviewed with Woodward yesterday. If Petersen has already declined an offer from UW -- or if he does at some point decline an offer from UW -- it seems Nussmeier would likely advance to the front of the line. Unless UW has a mystery candidate up its sleeve who nobody is talking/writing/tweeting about.
--- NBC Sports on why Petersen's interest in Washington is significant.
--- A funny take from a Boise State fan site on the several stages of emotions experienced by Broncos fans when Petersen's name is tied to a coaching search.
That's all for now.
