After considering whether to leave Washington and enter the NBA draft, point guard Nigel Williams-Goss has decided to return to UW for his sophomore season, a UW spokesperson confirmed Monday.
Williams-Goss averaged 13.4 points, 4.4 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game as a freshman in 2013-14. His father, Virgil, told the News Tribune last week that the NBA draft was a "serious consideration."
But Williams-Goss told CSNNW.com that he is "very excited to be coming back," and that after receiving "positive and informative" feedback about his NBA prospects, he decided he'd be best served by returning to Washington.
Huskies fans are likely breathing a sigh of relief. Williams-Goss will be UW's leading returning scorer in 2014-15, and will likely begin the season as one of the Pac-12's premier point guards.
