It doesn't look like the Huskies will sell out their home opener again this season (they did against Boise State last year), as the school had distributed roughly 59,000 tickets as of Tuesday for Saturday's game against Eastern Washington. That obviously doesn't include any potential walk-up customers the day of the game. I would expect a less-than-full student section, too, with the beginning of fall quarter still 19 days away.
Anyway, it's Friday, which means our prediction for the game will publish on the blog at some point. For now, links.
--- Our story in today's newspaper includes coach Chris Petersen's thoughts on nonconference scheduling, noting that the Huskies don't have any marquee non-league opponents on their schedule this season (and not much in the next two, either). Home-and-home series against Brigham Young (2018-19) and Michigan (2020-2021) are on the way.
Never miss a local story.
--- Arizona was the lone Pac-12 team that played last night, escaping San Antonio with a 26-23 victory over UTSA.
--- There is one Pac-12 team in action tonight. Washington State visits Nevada (7:30 p.m., ESPN) hoping to bounce back from a tough season-opening loss to Rutgers.
