If you're the gambling type, here's to hoping you had the over on that Washington State-California game. Links:
--- Indeed, the day's wildest result came from Pullman, where WSU and Cal combined for approximately one million yards in a 60-59 Golden Bears victory. WSU's 19-yard field-goal attempt missed wide right with 15 seconds left. Connor Halliday set the NCAA single-game passing record by throwing for 734 yards (and six touchdowns). Cal quarterback Jared Goff threw for 527 yards and five touchdowns (Halliday, by the way, has now thrown for 3,052 yards through WSU's first six games. The single-season NCAA record, set by Texas Tech QB B.J. Symons in 2003, is 5,833, and that was set in 13 games).
--- And oh, by the way, Arizona State beat USC thanks to a completed Hail Mary pass on the game's final play, the Sun Devils escaping Los Angeles with a 38-34 victory.
