--- Wrote a little in the paper today about the state of the Huskies' basketball program, and how a lack of depth and the dismissal of Robert Upshaw led to their current tailspin.
--- A pretty interesting read here from Shaq Thompson and USA Today, on Thompson's childhood and his NFL aspirations -- he makes it clear that he's a linebacker -- leading up to the draft. An excerpt:
I knew if I went to Cal, I was always going to be Syd'Quan's little brother. I got tired of that, and I wanted to get out of California and make a new name for myself. I went to UW as a safety. I stayed there for like a week in camp, playing behind Sean Parker. Then coach Justin Wilcox called me and Travis Feeney into his office. He was like, 'We're going to move you guys down to linebacker. We want the best guys on the field.' I'd never played linebacker but just adapted and was like, 'All right, this might be a position for me.'
Never miss a local story.
