Huskies assistant basketball coach T.J. Otzelberger is moving on. Moving back, actually, to Iowa State, where he worked from 2006-13 before joining coach Lorenzo Romar at Washington.
Otzelberger's departure is a significant loss for the Huskies. He's considered one of the game's more promising young assistants, largely because of his reputation as an aggressive and effective recruiter.
Here's the official announcement from Iowa State, which includes the following quote from Otzelberger: "Returning to Iowa State is a dream come true for my family and I. We are truly passionate about this university and the Ames community. I couldn’t be more enthusiastic to get back to work with Coach Hoiberg and the excellent staff he has assembled. It feels great to be coming home.”
