Jake Browning is suited up, but the true freshman quarterback did very little throwing during warmups prior to Washington’s 7:30 p.m. game at Stanford.
Instead, redshirt freshman K.J. Carta-Samuels took the first-team reps with the No. 1 offense during warmups, and it appears he will make his first career start in place of Browning, who injured his right throwing shoulder late in last week’s 26-20 loss to Oregon.
Huskies coach Chris Petersen didn’t say much this week about Browning’s availability, reiterating whenever asked that Browning is “day to day.” Carta-Samuels relieved him late in the Oregon game and completed one of two pass attempts, the second of which was intercepted. He has attempted just three passes in his young collegiate career.
