Central Kitsap rushed out to a 20-point first-half lead on its way to a 30-27 victory over North Thurston in 3A Narrows League football Thursday night at Silverdale Stadium.
The loss drops the Rams to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in league.
Central Kitsap built a 20-0 lead in the second quarter before the Rams pulled to 20-7 at halftime on Brandon Morgan’s 27-yard touchdown reception with 26 seconds left in the half. After Josh Mosquera’s 14-yard touchdown run opened the third-quarter scoring for North Thurston.
Mosquera’s rushing touchdown in the final minute pulled the Rams within three points in the game’s final minute.
Timberline goalkeeper Chloe Foster had eight saves in the Blazers’ 0-0 tie with Gig Harbor in 4A Narrows girls soccer.
North Thurston won eight events, including Maya Lawson-Rivera in the 200 IM (2:26.75) and 100 breaststroke (1:13.75) and Arielle Howell in the 50 feree (26.28) and 100 free (58.40) in the Rams’ 108-62 3A Narrows girls swimming dual over Capital.
Christina Bruce won the 500 freestyle (7:00.39) to lead River Ridge in its 127-49 girls swimming dual-meet loss to Steilacoom.
Olympia rallied trailing two sets to one against Gig Harbor to force a fifth set to defeat the Tides, 28-30, 25-18, 25-16, 16-25, 20-18 in 4A Narrows volleyball behind Hannah Adams’ 21 kills, Jona Spiller’s 49 digs and Julia Fleeners’s 42 assists.
Danny Dracobly’s 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles lifted Shelton to a 5-0 sweep of Wilson in 3A Narrows boys tennis.
