The North Thurston High School baseball team had lost all five of its nonleague games. But in 3A Narrows League play, it was unbeaten in eight games entering Monday.
Then Wilson happened.
Mack Larson struck out nine in seven innings and also had two hits at the plate as Wilson beat visiting North Thurston 6-2.
North Thurston (8-6; 8-1 3A Narrows) tied the game with two runs in the top of the fourth inning, but Wilson got three in the third and one more in the sixth and held on from there.
Mark Jones and Daniel Peterson both went 2 for 3 at the plate for Wilson (6-6; 5-4). Ethan Connelly drove in a run and scored the other for North Thurston.
Lincoln 10, Mount Tahoma 0: Tamerek Wrinkle struck out 10 and Zavier Huebner had a hit and scored three runs to lift the Abes to their first win in 3A Narrows League play.
Lincoln improved to 2-9 overall and 1-7 in 3A Narrows play. Mount Tahoma fell to 0-13 and 0-9 in league play.
Puyallup 3, Emerald Ridge 2: Brendan Illies’ drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Vikings against their cross-town rival.
Illies, a North Carolina commit, singled to right field to score Riley Pletcher with the score tied at 2 to ensure Puyallup (11-2; 8-1 4A SPSL South) kept its top spot in the league standings.
Emerald Ridge (7-7; 5-3) tied the game in the top half of the seventh on Dustin Resnik’s single to left field to score Josh Simmons.
The Jaguars had led 1-0 with a run in the third before Puyallup struck for two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Nate Packard pitched six innings for Emerald Ridge. He struck out five, walked four and allowed one earned run. Emerald-Ridge transfer Chris Micheles went 6 2/3 innings struck out four and allowed one earned run for Puyallup against his former team.
Todd Beamer 4, Decatur 3: The Gators scored three runs late but it wasn’t enough to overcome an early deficit.
Beamer (11-5; 8-2 4A SPSL Northwest) broke a tie atop the league standings with the win over Decatur (10-6; 7-3).
Beamer's Ben Arata hit a home run. Decatur’s Tyler Swanson was 3 for 4 with a double and a run scored.
Bethel 11, Spanaway Lake 0: Nolan Davidson pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts and went 3 for 3 at the plate, with a home run and five RBIs as the Braves earned their first 4A SPSL South victory of the year.
Jordan Steiner and Michael Asahara both went 2 for 3 with an RBI for Bethel (3-12; 1-8 4A SPSL South). Spanaway Lake fell to 4-10 and 1-7 in league play.
