Kyle Bosch took advantage of a breakout and well-placed pass to score the lone goal for the Rogers High School boys soccer team in the annual King of the Hill rivalry, a 1-0 win over 4A SPSL South host Emerald Ridge.
Rams keeper Parker Elliot earned his shutout with six saves while Austin Bauer had four for the Jaguars.
The match was tied until Bosch’s goal in the 51st minute.
Vashon 2, Seattle Christian 1: Down by one, the Pirates responded in the second half by goals from forwards Gabe Reoux and Austyn Heit.
"We were pretty evenly matched but we just out-ran them in the end," Vashon coach Ben Bork said. "It was a fitness game and we just had more of it."
Franklin Pierce 1, Orting 0: Mitchell Balmer scored the game's lone goal in the 79th minute for the Cardinals to eke out a 2A SPSL home win.
The win was crucial for Franklin Pierce (8-2-0; 8-1-0 2A SPSL) to keep pace with top seeded Fife (10-0-0; 9-0-0 2A SPSL) in the league standings. Franklin Pierce next faces Fife at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fife.
Clover Park 2, River Ridge 0: Hornets senior Arturo Vega earned his third shutout of the season with a three-save performance on the road.
Ever Dominguez and Carlos Molina each scored for Clover Park (6-4-0; 5-4-0 2A SPSL) River Ridge fell to 2-8-1 overall and 2-7-0 in league play.
Curtis 5, Bethel 0: Josh Lee scored twice as the Vikings cruised to the 4A SPSL South home win.
Alex Whiting, Zach Ecklund and Nolan Wool also added goals for Curtis (8-4-1; 8-1-0 4A SPSL South). The Vikings next face unbeaten Puyallup (9-0-2; 8-0-0 4A SPSL South) at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Viking Stadium.
