Woodland senior Faith Udy maintained her first-day lead at the Class 2A District 4 girls golf championships to win the individual title Tuesday following her final-round 85 for a two-day, 36-hole total of 165 at Tumwater Valley Municipal Golf Course.
Udywon by one shot over Hockinson’s Shelby La Tourrette (166), who shot a 4-over-par 40 on the back nine compared to Udy (46).
Hockinson won the team title with 182 points, placing three golfers in the top five and four in the top 10. Woodland was second (106) followed by Ridgefield (94). Tumwater and W.F. West tied for fourth (72).
The top 19 golfers advanced to the 2A state championships May 27-28 at MeadowWood Golf Course in Liberty Lake near Spokane. Tumwater, team champions at last week’s 2A Evergreen Conference championships, sends two golfers to state — Laurel Fimbel (seventh, 187) and Anna Bednarik (12th, 196).
Black Hills sends one golfer to state, freshman Elle Hirotaka, who placed ninth (195). Hirotaka is the lone freshman from District 4 to qualify for state.
