The Bellarmine Prep volleyball team finished the regular season with a three-set sweep over visiting Yelm on Tuesday, wrapping up an undefeated season in league play.
“It is good to be able move on after finishing league play,” said Lions coach Caroline Meines. “We’ll be playing in the league tournament this Saturday to play for the first or second seed in the district tournament.”
Jenna Downing had six aces for Bellarmine, Megan Jacobsen had 16 kills and Hanna Pukis finished with 22 assists.

North Thurston 3, Wilson 1: North Thurston earned the victory behind Alex Porter’s 21 kills, 15 for 15 serving and one ace.
Capital 3, Shelton 1: Amanda Christopher was on another level in the Cougars’ victory as she accumulated 27 digs, four kills and four blocks.
Gig Harbor 3, Timberline 0: The Tides’ Lauren Hatfield fought hard to earn her 15 kills and 10 digs.
Curtis 3, Bethel 0: The Vikings finished a perfect regular season in league play behind Elly McEachern’s 12 kills and four blocks and Camryn Buell’s eight kills and 19 digs.
Tumwater 3, Centralia 0: Kennedy Croft and Jaeya Reed were too much for the Tigers to handle as the two T-Birds combined for 30 kills and four aces.
The Auburn Mountainview girls showed grit as they defeated rival Auburn Riverside at home, 1-0.
Katherine Setera scored off an Emily Greve assist in the 50th minute.
The Lions are running out of nails to bite this season — almost every one of their games has come down to the wire. “My senior leaders are just phenomenal leaders,” Auburn Mountainview coach Bryan Winkler said. “Our composure throughout the season keeps coming out, working on our game after suffering some tough losses. I couldn’t be more proud of the team.”
The Lions’ Holly Hytrek battled some jitters as it was her first game back after suffering a concussion earlier in the season. She split the shutout with Jaelynn Ramsay.
Steilacoom 10, Clover Park 0: Tayler Sayers-Howie led the way for the Sentinels with two goals (34th minute, 43rd minute). Sophie Crawford also had two goals (16th minute, 61st minute) and Bailey Crow pitched in with a pair (42nd minute, 48th minute).
Central Kitsap 2, Capital 0: Central Kitsap jumped out early as Michaela Wallitner scored in the 14th minute off a pass from Elena Stamerra. Hannah Jacobs scored in the 38th minute.
Curtis 4, Graham-Kapowsin 0: Morgan Weaver scored on a penalty kick in the 36th minute, and three minutes later she hit the back of the net again. Grace Collins and Olivia Engle combined on the shutout.
Emerald Ridge 4, Bethel 1: Karlee Stueckle accounted for two of the Jaguars’ goals as she scored in the 72nd and 80th minutes. Miya Thomas scored in the third minute for the Braves.
Puyallup 4, Rogers 1: For the Vikings, Saige Lyons scored off a Jordyn Bartleson pass in the fourth minute and assisted on a Kory Larkin goal in the 45th minute.
White River 6, Franklin Pierce 2: The Hornets extended their undefeated streak to 14 games. Annabelle Hall had a hat trick, scoring in the third minute, ninth minute and 20th minute.
BOYS WATER POLO
The Auburn Mountainview boys earned a road victory over Enumclaw, 14-5.
Leading the scoring for the Lions were Truman Sulewski and Alex Toney, who both had four goals, and Bo Nelson, who had three.
For the Hornets, Adam Percival and Nathan March scored twice.
Curtis 19, Mark Morris 0: Sam Abbott scored six goals for the Vikings, while Andrew Gronlund and Warren Bell combined for the shutout.
Puyallup 17, Emerald Ridge 4: The Vikings’ Austin Stump, Kyle Howgate and Reed Wentzel combined for 11 goals.
