Alhambra (Calif.) 12, Fife 2: The Trojans led in the sixth — but then the roof caved in.
Their one-run lead evaporated when Alhambra scored 11 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning as Fife lost its first game of the season.
Kyle Mozzone had staked Fife to a 1-0 lead with his RBI double in the top of the second inning. It added one more run in the top of the sixth inning after Alhambra had tied it up.
Tanner Knapp, a Seattle U signee, doubled and scored a run for the Trojans, and Wesley Nixon tripled and scored a run.
The game was the first of three for Fife (7-1) in Pasadena, California. It plays Monrovia of California at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by South Pasadena at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Kentwood 9, Kentlake 0: Shane McGuire doubled, scored three runs and drove in another as the Conquerors swept the Falcons in a three-game series.
This was after McGuire went 4 for 4 on Wednesday. He’s 6 for 7 in the past two games with six runs scored and five RBIs.
Ben Wadowski added an RBI triple and Matt Franceschina pitched five shutout innings, allowing five hits.
Todd Beamer 2, Thomas Jefferson 1: Brycen Allen tossed a complete game and allowed one run on four hits to lead the Titans and hand the Raiders their second league loss.
Beamer took a 2-0 lead after the second inning before Jefferson (6-5, 4-2 4A SPSL Northwest) scored a run in the fourth on Mason DeLaCruz’s RBI single.
Ethan Phelps was 1 for 3 with an RBI double for Beamer (6-5, 2-1 4A SPSL Northwest).
Tahoma 10, Kent-Meridian 0: Kevin Fokkema threw a five-inning shutout as the Bears cruised to victory over the Royals.
The Bears (10-3, 4-2 4A SPSL Northwest) led 7-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth and used a three-run inning to extend their lead to 10-0 and invoke the mercy rule. Ian Turner was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and a double for the Bears.
King Jimenez-Cruz went 2 for 3 for the Royals (1-12, 0-10 4A SPSL Northwest).
Auburn Mountainview 7, Enumclaw 5: Chandler Michalek went 2 for 3 and hit a grand slam in the fourth inning as the Lions defeated the Hornets.
Michalek’s slam gave the Lions (4-5, 3-2 3A SPSL) a 7-1 lead, and they were able to hold on despite a late rally by Enumclaw (4-4, 3-2 3A SPSL) in the sixth and seventh innings.
Casey Harbets went 2 for 3 with two RBIs for the Hornets and teammate Austin Wilson went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
Peninsula 9, Auburn 6: Jacob Lussier went 2 for 4 with four RBIs, while Noah Endsley went 2 for 2 with a double, scored two runs and drove in two runs as the Seahawks knocked off the Trojans.
The Seahawks (2-7, 2-4 3A SPSL) exploded for five runs in the second inning, and added runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings.
Dillion Row went 1 for 2, scored a run and drove in a run for the Trojans (3-8, 1-5 3A SPSL).
Black Hills 6, Tenino 2: Jaycee Miller gave up only four hits and retired seven batters through six innings as the Wolves defeated the Thunderbirds.
Austin Parr went 2 for 3 with a RBI for the Wolves (4-6, 1-2 2A Evergreen).
Alex Bratton and Jace Griffif both went 1 for 2 and scored a run for the Thunderbirds (3-4, 3-3 1A Evergreen).
Steilacoom 11, Orting 0: Brennen Postal had quite the day for the Sentinels.
He gave up only one hit through five innings and struck out six batters as the Sentinels (4-4, 3-3 2A SPSL) defeated the Cardinals. Postal went 2 for 2, drove in two runs and scored twice.
The Sentinels’ Jared Jacobs went 3 for 4 with four RBIs.
Austin Budlong went 1 for 2 for the Cardinals (3-3, 3-5 2A SPSL).
Decatur 3, Mount Rainer 0: Tyler Swanson went 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI for the Golden Gators. Decatur (4-8, 2-4 4A Northwest SPSL.) scored runs in the first, third and seventh innings.
Jared Scott went 2 for 3 for Mount Rainier (3-8, 1-5 4A Northwest SPSL).

Bonney Lake 10, Auburn 0 (5 innings): Brooke Nelson allowed only two hits and struck out 10 batters in five innings to lift the Panthers to their third consecutive victory.
Nelson also went 3 for 3 with three RBIs. Ele Quintanar, Jessica Clark and Shelby Welfringer each had two hits for Bonney Lake (6-1, 3-1 3A SPSL).
Jillian Tinsley and Jami Capitan had the only hits for Auburn (3-6, 0-4 3A SPSL).
