Mariners activate Silva from DL
The Seattle Mariners activated pitcher Carlos Silva from the 60-day disabled list on Tuesday and placed pitcher Sean White on the 60-day DL with right shoulder tendinitis.
The 30-year-old Silva, who was shelved with right shoulder inflammation, owns a career record of 60-64 with a 4.71 ERA in 293 games (159 starts). The righty has also tallied 474 strikeouts to just 212 walks in 1127 innings.
White, 28, has not appeared in a game since August 28 and didn't allow a run in his final 11 2/3 innings pitched over his last eight contests.
