The Seattle Mariners have 18 days left in their season, and shortstop Jack Wilson's bruised right heel is going to keep him out 12-15 days.
Do the math.
Wilson, who missed 10 games with a strained hamstring last month, said he will miss most or all of the next few weeks with a deep bone bruise - and that by the time he returns, the season will be gone or almost so.
It hasn't been an easy transiton for the man who spent his entire career playing in Pittsburgh and hasn't had much success or luck since being acquired by the Mariners on July 29.
In 31 games, Wilson batted .224 with one home run and 8 RBI. Josh Wilson, no relation, will take Jack's place at shortstop.
