Life is pretty good for Morse, who's a first baseman on the roster but a pinch-hitter in reality - and he's batting .261 in 23 games.
It would be hard to find a player that enjoyed himself more in baseball than Morse, who managed to plaster a goofy smile on his face no matter what his situation.
Dealt by Seattle for outfielder Ryan Langerhans, Morse was brought up by the Nationals last month. He's helped win two games with his bat, and now he's got a familiar teammate in catcher Jamie Burke.
Burke has appeared in two games for Washington and is 0-for-1 with a walk.
Both love the opportunity they're getting, but Morse couldn't help but look back a little.
"Say hello to Ken (Griffey Jr.) and Ichiro for me," Morse wrote.
