Greetings from cloudy Arizona where I will be subbing for at times and joining on other occasions Larry for the next 10 days of coverage.
When I sat down to blog this morning, I realized I didn't know exactly what to blog about and a panic ensued. I also had no initial idea what I plan to write about for tomorrow's paper. This happens during the season when you have to fill daily notebooks.
So I went back and checked to see what Larry has written about. The list includes: Cliff Lee, Shawn Kelley, Brandon League, Jack Wilson, Jack Hannahan, the catching situation, Jose Lopez's transition to third base (twice), Rob Johnson, David Aardsma, Chad Cordero, Ken Griffey Jr., Casey Kotchman, infield coach Mike Brumley, Ichir's first day at camp, Mariners Idol, Milton Bradley, Felix Hernandez and the Academy Awards.
So where does that leave me?
Never miss a local story.
Well, there are other players to talk to, obviously. I am planning to write about some of the younger guys and prospects, and I've got a few other ideas. And as often is the case during the season, whenever I feel like we don't have anything to write about, the Mariners will make news too.
But I'm also curious as to what you are hoping to read about. Is there someone or something out there that we haven't written about. Feel free to let me know either on comments or by e-mail - firstname.lastname@example.org -- because ultimately that is what we try to provide in the paper and the blog (not just my opinionated ramblings).
Also I'm going to try and post some video and audio. No guarantees on how well it works, since I've never done it before. But will try and test it out.
