The Mariners just sent out a press release saying that left-hander Erik Bedard will have another surgery on his left shoulder. The details surrounding the exact procedure are not certain. But it will likely be the end of a season that never started for Bedard.
It's disappointing considering for a guy that worked pretty hard to come back from the surgery.
From the release ...
After being examined by Mariners Medical Director, Dr. Edward Khalfayan, Dr. Lewis Yocum and Dr. David Altchek, all three agree that surgery is needed. Bedard is scheduled to have surgery on Friday, August 6th in Seattle. The surgery will be performed by Mariners Medical Director, Dr. Edward Khalfayan and Dr. Lewis Yocum.
Never miss a local story.
Bedard, 31, had surgery on his left (pitching) shoulder on Aug. 14, 2009 to repair a torn labrum. He has spent the 2010 season rehabilitating following the surgery. Dr. Lewis Yocum performed the surgery in Los Angeles, CA.
