It's been six days since Seattle Mariners closer David Aardsma saved his 31st game, and it will be at least a few more before gets the opportunity to pick up No. 32.
Seems Aardsma has a mild oblique strain on his left side, and hasn't thrown a ball since that last save. The Mariners are 1-4 in games since then, and their only victory was by three runs, so they didn't require Aardsma's services.
Should they need a closer tonight, manager Daren Brown said it would be Brandon League - and Brown wouldn't be hesitant to use him for more than an inning if the situation called for it.
"David's going to need a few more days, at least," Brown said.
