News just out that the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association named Larry Stone the Washington Sportswriter of the Year, leaving every other sportswriter in our state smiling though their envy.
Stone practices his craft up the road at the Seattle Times, where he covers major league baseball specifically and the Seattle Mariners generally. We've linked to his blog, The Hot Stone League, since this blog opened shop.
Mr. Stone is a marvelous writer, tireless reporter, devoted father and husband. Having known him for more than 20 years, I've still not heard him say a negative word about another human being - which really annoys me.
Larry likes dogs, is a great traveling companion and probably has a great singing voice.
Never miss a local story.
Can't imagine what the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association saw in him ...
