Left-hander Mauricio Robles is the latest pitcher to need elbow surgery for the Mariners. The 22-year-old Robles will have arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday to have loose bodies removed from left elbow. Mariners medical director Dr. Edward Khalfayan will perform the surgery.
Robles has been bothered by elbow problems all spring and struggled with his command while his velocity. He pitched in one Cactus League game and was all over the place. He was optioned to Triple A shortly thereafter
Robles, who was acquired in the trade for Jarrod Washburn trade along with Luke French, will be able to resume throwing in about six weeks.
