No surprises in manager Eric Wedge's lineup, other than he got to write in 'Erik Bedard' as his starting pitcher - something neither Don Wakamatsu or Daren Brown was able to do in 2010.
As Wedge said, 'there are no soft landings in the big leagues,' but Bedard tonight and rookie Miguel Pineda tomorrow night, will face what is probably the most potent offense in the American League West. They have plenty of weapons, but their favorite is the long ball and pounding away at you.
Spent some time in the Texas clubhouse today, visiting ex-Mariners Adrian Beltre, Arthur Rhodes and Mark Lowe, who all asked more questions about Seattle players than they got asked.
As they were with the Mariners, all three are unforgettable teammates and, in Lowe's case, that's not always a good thing. His sense of humor starts with flatulence and goes downhill from there. It a big-league clubhouse, however, that's the stuff of classic comedy.
Never miss a local story.
It's 'Replica Ring Night' in Arlington, with fans getting replica rings of the American League Champion Rangers.
