The Mariners announced that catcher Adam Moore will go on the disabled list after an MRI revealed a medial meniscus tear in Moore's right knee. He will undergo surgery in the future, but an exact date has yet to be announced.
Moore appeared in two games with Seattle this season and was 1-for-6 (.167) with a double.
The Mariners won't announce a roster move until Friday, but it will likely be Josh Bard or Chris Gimenez being called up from Triple A Tacoma. They will likely have to place Moore on the 60-day disabled list to make room on the 40-man roster since neither Bard nor Gimenez are on there. Otherwise they would have to designate another player for assignment and risk losing them on a waivers claim.
