After going hitless in his first three games, shortstop Nick Franklin has started hitting for Class A High Desert. Last night for the Mavs, Franklin ripped a solo home run and had two other hits, finishing the night 3-f0r-4 with two runs scored. In his last three games, Franklin is 6-for-12 with a homer, a triple, 3 RBI and 5 runs scored. Also hitting for high desert is first basemen Dennis Raben, who has hits in seven of eight games and is hitting .343 with a couple of homers.
Mariners outfielder Franklin Gutierrez will be playing rehab games with High Desert the next few days.
For Double A Jackson, the bats have been pretty quiet. The General were shut out for the second straight night.
Things for even worse for Class A Clinton. The Lumberkings lost their fifth straight game.
