Sorry for no report from yesterday. I had a rare day off. But here's was yesterday's report.
The Tacoma Rainiers got to see an old friend on Wednesday night, and he shut them down. Former Mariner and Rainier Ryan Rowland-Smith pitched six innings and allowed one run on six hits as Tacoma lost to Oklahoma City, 3-1
Frankin Gutierrez had two hits in the game. The Rainiers were also without manager Daren Brown, who was suffering from a bad sinus infection.
Double A Jackson lost to Mississippi 4-1, and more importantly, right-hander Kenn Kasparek was injured in his start and only lasted 1 1/3 innings. Not sure what the injury is yet.
Never miss a local story.
Class A High Desert got a big game from Matt Cerione, who made his first start with the team since being called up from Clinton, had four hits, including a double and a homer, in a 13-7 win. Gabe Noriega also had four hits and Dennis Raben homered.
Class A Clinton fell 8-7 to Quad Cities. Stefen Romero went 3-for-5 in the loss.
