After Carlos Peguero hit the first home run of his career last night, he and the Seattle Mariners had a tough ninth inning and lost to Cleveland, 5-4 - and Peguero's home run lost some of its luster.
Peguero hit his home run deep into the stands in right center field, where and Indians fan caught it and kept it, then offered it back to the Mariners - for a price.
He would trade the home run ball, he said, for a signed Felix Hernandez baseball.Felix signed one and took possession of the home run ball.
"Now, he owes me money," Felix said. "He's a good kid."
Never miss a local story.
The kid is 24, and Felix turned 25 on April 8. Old enough to now be Peguero's hero.
