The Double A Jackson Generals are one of the hottest teams in the minor leagues. Jackson won its seventh straight game with a 4-3 victory over Mississippi. Shawn Kelley worked a scoreless relief inning, allowing one hit and striking out a batter. Tom Wilhelmsen, who will transition to starting pitching, picked up the win, pitching two scoreless innings in relief, allowing one hit and striking out three. Kyle Seager had two hits and drove in two runs for the Generals.
Luke French can't seem to get a win for the Rainiers. Last year he was their best pitcher, this year he fell to 0-5 after Tacoma's 8-2 loss to Memphis at Cheney Stadium.
Class A High Desert got shut down by Lancaster's Jose Cisnero. Dennis Raben and Denny Almonte each had a double for the Mavs.
Class A Clinton lost on walk-off two-run homer in the 11th inning. Lefty prospect James Paxton pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run on three hits with seven strikeouts and three walks. Shaver Hansen had two hits and two RBI and Matt Browning had two-run homer.
