The Tacoma Rainiers were shut out, 3-0, yesterday by the Reno Aces. It was the first time this season the Rainiers have been held scoreless. Tacoma managed just three hits against a combination of four Reno pitchers, but Mike Carp did have a hard single to extend his hitting streak to 17 games. Dustin Ackley had his 10 game hit streak snapped.
Why has Carp not been called up? I have no idea. That's all I have. I really don't know.
Double A Jackson picked up a 7-3 win over the Montgomery Biscuits. Rich Poythress and Nate Tenbrink hit homers for the Generals.
Class A High Desert hung on for a 7-6 win, despite banging out 17 hits. Vinnie Catricala led the way with three hits for the Mavs.
Class A Clinton picked up a rare win, thanks to a two-run double from Stefen Romero in the eighth inning. Romero had three hits.
