First, here is a link to yesterday's report -- the Ichiro stuff had us scrambling.
Alex Liddi continues to progress and adjust to Triple A pitching. After a struggling for the month of April, hitting just .210 (17-for-81) with 33 strikeouts and a .650 OPS, he's made a few adjustments and is now showing better consistency at the plate. Last night, he went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a homer to lead the Rainiers to a 5-2 win.
Mike Curto has the game story that also mentioned how well Luke French pitched in the win.
Anyway, Liddi has an eight-game hitting streak and his hit in 16 of the last 17 games. During those 17 games, he's batting .342 with 18 runs scored, 10 doubles, three homers and 19 RBI.
Double A Jackson looked like it had an extra innings win against Huntsville scoring two runs in the top of the 10th. But Huntstville scored three runs in the bottom of the 10th off of right-hander Steve Delabar to pick up a 4-3 win.
DH Joe Dunigan went 2-for-4 with a homer for the Generals. Jarrett Grube had a solid start, pitching seven innings and giving up one run on five hits with a walk and a seven strikeouts.
Dennis Raben continues to put up numbers for Class A High Desert. The hard hitting 1B/DH/OF blasted a grand slam homer in the bottom of the eighth to lead the Mavs to a 10-7 win. Raben finished 2-for-5. Outfielder James Jones also added a homer.
Class a Clinton dropped a 6-4 decision to Bowling Green. Left-hander James Paxton pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up five runs on eight hits with three walks and six strikeouts. Mickey Wiswall went 2 for 4 with a home for the LumberKings.
