Larry is up covering the game, but I'm up here working on some feature stuff and also doing postgame radio on 950-AM KJR after the game, so feel free to tune in after the last out, and I figured I would throw up some video.
Adam Kennedy was out taking ground balls at third base. That caused a little bit of a stir in the press box. If you think about it, when Dustin Ackley is called up, he's going to be playing second base. So Kennedy, who is one of the team's best hitters and a Wedge favorite, needs to find a place to play. Wedge can use him at DH, first base and yes ... third base.
This move could be even more likely if Chone Figgins continues to struggle.
So what did Wedge have to say about it?
"He's been taking some ground balls at third and just moving around the infield," Wedge said. "We'll continue to see that happen."
Kennedy told other reporters its just something that he does normally.
But it also goes beyond coincidental that he's doing that now.
No, I don't know when Ackley is going to be called up. It will either be tomorrow or before the Nationals series are my two guesses.
On last night's loss?
"No one likes getting shut out, but Weaver is one of the better pitchers in the league. We wre a little off and he was on. You should wear that a little bit. You need to feel that little. But we need to pick ourselves up and come out here and take this last one."

Is Wedge at all concerned about the tough stretch of games, particularly the September run?
"It's going to be a tough stretch, but hopefully it's a meaningful stretch," Wedge said. "If it's a meaningful stretch being tired isn't going to be an issue.
