Well, it was one of those games and one of those starts for Nate Robertson and the Tacoma Rainiers. The veteran left-hander got rocked by the Salt Lake Beers, giving up eight runs on 10 hits, including 2 homers in just 2/3 of an inning pitched. Tacoma gave up 10 runs in the first inning in a 18-9 loss.
Carlos Peguero continues to hit for the Rainiers. He went 3-for-4 with a homer and is now batting .519 with a three doubles, a triple and two homers in the six games since being called down. Kyle Seager also homered for the Rainiers, while Michael Saunders added three hits.
Double A Jackson was swept in a double header by Montgomery. Jake Shaffer had three hits in the double header
Class A High Desert fell to Modesto, 8-7, as starter Yoervis Medina fell to 1-10 on the season. Gabe Noriega and Rudy van Heydoorn homered. In worse news for the team and the Mariners, it appears that hard-hitting first baseman Dennis Raben needs another surgery.
Class A Clinton lost 2-1 on a walk-off single by West Michigan's James Robbins. It sullied an otherwise good start from Anthony Ferndandez, who tossed 7 2/3 innings, allowing one run on three hits, while striking out six and walking three.
Class A Everett rolled to a 14-3 win as Jarrett Burgess went 3-for-5 with a homer, a triple and four runs driven in. Marcus Littlewood had three hits, including a pair of doubles.
