Michael Morse left Tuesday night's game with a right quad strain. He is day-to-day.
UPDATE: 10:59: Manager Eric Wedge said Morse is unlikely to fly with the team tonight to San Diego. He'll probably stay in Seattle for some evaluation. Wedge expects Morse to miss a couple days, which will put the Mariners in a tricky spot with Justin Smoak already day-to-day.
Morse’s single to center in the fourth put him on and Michael Saunders’ gap double put him in motion. When Morse rounded third base, he grimaced. He was out by a long margin at home plate. Sliding into the plate -- and a collision with catcher Yasmani Grandal -- made Morse grimace again.
That ended his night. The Mariners swung Endy Chavez from left field to right and placed Jason Bay in left.
Never miss a local story.
Morse has dealt with other dings so far this season. He fractured his pinkie in early April. A scratched eye caused him to miss a game against Cleveland on May 17.
