The facts: The Mariners jumped on Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong for four runs in the first inning on two-run homers by Brad Miller and Michael Saunders. And the rout was on. Jesus Montero hit two homers against the Dodgers, both to the opposite field.
Play of the game: Erasmo Ramirez took another step toward securing a spot in the rotation by working four scoreless innings. He has allowed one earned run and seven hits in 8 2/3 innings over three starts.
Plus: Left fielder Stefen Romero went two for three, including a homer, against the Dodgers and threw out speedy Dee Gordon at the plate…Dustin Ackley went three for four against the Giants and raised his average to .500 (10 for 20)…Saunders started in right field and, in addition to his homer, had a nice running catch into foul ground for the final out in the second inning and an RBI single in a five-run third inning.
Minus: Corey Hart went hitless in four at-bats against the Giants as the DH…The Mariners had a brutal start against the Dodgers: two base-mistakes in top of first, and two errors in bottom of inning that led to three runs.

Extra innings: Second baseman Robinson Cano missed a third day while recovering from a root canal. He isn’t expected to play Sunday, either…Right-hander Taijuan Walker showed no renewed shoulder soreness after two days of throwing following a seven-day shutdown…A sellout crowd of 12,123 watched the game at Scottsdale Stadium. A sellout crowd of 13,427 watched the game at Camelback Ranch. The M’s best home crowd this spring is 5,913.
