Brad Miller has been named the American League Player of the Week after batting .429 with four home runs last week.
Miller is the second Mariners player to win the award this season, joining Nelson Cruz (April 13-19). It is also the second career Player of the Week honor for Miller, who previously won the award July 22, 2013.
Miller went 9 for 21 with seven of his hits (three doubles, four home runs) going for extra bases. He also walked three times, giving him an on-base percentage of .500 for the week and a slugging percentage of 1.143 to combine for a 1.643 OPS.
The big week raised Miller's batting average to .264 for the season.
