Made it back from Kirkland. Sorry for the server problems earlier. I think we were overloaded once Mike Holmgren confirmed what we noted about Shaun Alexander. What does the injury mean for Seattle? It means the Seahawks won't be themselves offensively, but that was the case anyway.
Without Jerramy Stevens (to say nothing of Steve Hutchinson and even Ryan Hannam), the Seahawks weren't the same team on the ground. Alexander's injury wasn't helping matters either. Add Deion Branch to the mix and this was becoming more of a four-receiver team. We saw that yesterday.
You could make a case that Maurice Morris fits that type of offense as well or better than the guy he's replacing. They will of course want Alexander for the long term, but in the short term, given the personnel situation at tight end and on the line, Morris should fit pretty well. He hits the hole fast and that's what the team might need if the holes aren't there long. This is doubly true if Alexander was going to be at less than full strength. This should be interesting to see how things work out, and what Morris brings to the game.
