Dave Boling's column today explored the relationship between Seahawks FB Josh Parry and Parry's brother, Neil, who famously played in a college football game with a prosthetic lower leg.
From the column: "In October 2000, Josh was a standout senior linebacker and Neil a walk-on sophomore seeing most of his action on special teams. Both were on the field when Neil raced toward the Texas-El Paso kickoff returner, looking for a big hit. A teammate was blocked into his lower leg, snapping both the tibia and fibula. The bones extruded; an artery was severed, and nerves were damaged the length of his leg. A life-threatening infection attacked, and the incremental removal of Neil Parry's lower leg began."
