The Seahawks offered tryouts to four linebackers this week. The list included David Bergeron, Jared Newberry, Jeremy Cain and Anthony Robinson. The Seahawks work out players at various positions throughout the season. These four prospects are mostly younger guys. Newberry was a sixth-round pick of the Washington Redskins in 2005 (183rd overall). He also spent time with the Houston Texans. Newberry and Bergeron played together at Stanford. Bergeron was a seventh-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles, also in 2005. Robinson, from Division II Carson-Newman, was 2005 defensive player of the year in the South Atlantic Conference.
